NDK Booth Evolution and Thanks by MadMouseMedia NDK Booth Evolution and Thanks by MadMouseMedia
Through out the years, MadMouseMedia has been doing conventions and having a blast. I wanted to show the evolution of the booth over the last three years at NDK. Spaning from when I first got the crates and made the table 8 actually in to table 11 (my lucky number) to the year I had a broken foot and Zimmie joined the band of helpers to this year where the Mafia seems to have taken over the store front.

Thanks to:
Cam for being my booth kitty two years running and now upgrading to a snappy hat. You might not have the ears but you'll always be booth kitty material.

Matt for getting me started and keeping me going when I need a break. You've been a great traveling companion and a wonderful friend. You're help and great PR skills never fail to impress.

:iconyami-no-malik-san: You're an amazing artist and I look forward to helping you with your booth at Anime Banzai this year after all the great work you've done and fantastic energy you bring to the team. You never fail to make me laugh and keep me organized.

Josh and Rinnu-chan, you guys are have helped me out in small ways but still your big hearts and sharing spirits got me through 2011 when I needed a quiet place to get my self back together. Congrats again on your choice to spend the rest of your lives together. That doesn't mean you can't stop coming to NDK once you're hitched. I'm spoiled now and expect to see you!

Kim, you might not have come to NDK but once but you are ALWAYS there for me when I have to run ideas by someone and you are ALWAYS reminding me to hang in there.

THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME BY THE BOOTH IN YEARS PASS AND THANKS TO EVERYONE SUPPORTING ME IN FUTURE EVENTS INCLUDING THE STAFF OF NDK. You are too numinous to mention but I adore you all I can't tell you what a joy it is to meet all kind of people and share the fun of the con with you all. Thanks you and I will always have free stickers and hugs for anyone what wants!

I have what is probably the stupidest question ever but, what are those blue build-able frames/shelves actually called?? xi I've been trying to find them online forever with no luck...

I've seen them called different things but this is the one I have: [link]

Wire crates is all I call them. It's not a stupid question either ^_^ I had the same hard time googling them.

sigh. I had a good time! I missed most of everything because of work so Sunday was the only day I could attend but the Nedomimi made up for that. Hopefully I can see you guys next year. Glad to hear that sold out! Congrats!

Thanks. So far it's looking like I might win the come back next year contest. I'm really hoping to be back but if I'm not...I have a few other cons I'll try to go to like Wasabi con in march and denver's comic con in May. It will be a busy year next year that's for sure. Where is Nedomimi?

Oh yeah I found out about the Wasabi con last March and I was thinking very selfishly that I want that con to be exclusively for myself. (I'm not gonna tell my friends don't know why).
I can never get to the comic con but I'm sure I'd love it.
Oh it's a misspell, Nekomimi (cat ears), the one's that move. They give me a headache about after an hour though because their heavy. Why they use 4 AAA batteries instead of the little round batteries is beyond me but hopefully China will make lighter models in the future. ;D

OH yeah those kitty ears. Super popular and I heard they are making a tail for them too. They scare me to be honest. I think they are really aliens come to read our minds and steal our thoughts j/k they look really cute though. You should try out for Wasabi. I need to find out when their Artist Alley opens. I'm realizing more and more I need to stick to local conventions. Out of state cons are slowly draining my energy.

Looks like Wasabi is full. I just went to try and get a table and it's saying it's sold out. Not on the website but you got to pay and it's like "no more available" Be nice if someone put it on the site so I didn't waste my time. =___=

I have to give you props because what you said to me had paid off again and again Wen. Let the art sell itself. I've been in the green every year and actually don't better progressively each year. You're a doll. Thanks for all your support and kind thoughts and words and advice -pinches your cheek-

Not really, I would just walk by and take pictures of cosplayers. I looked at your stuff sometimes but I never bought anything.

Ah looking though is totally fine. It's so hard when there is so much stuff and so little $$$. And then there is the dealers room. I have to give my wallet to my friend to hold so I don't get carried away. Cause I swear if I had my way I'd buy out the place. I'm such an addict. Do they have a recovery center for Otakus? I think it's well over due. LOL! Hope you got some fun pictures. I saw a few people walking around and got a picture with Russia holding a giant sunflower but other wise I only saw an America and one Canada.

I saw so many alia chaters including Prussia! Tons and tons of Prussias! I also saw an Egypt and (I hope) a Thailand! And if I had my money in the dealers room, I would've bought so much stuff! I convinced my dato let me buy volumes 1, 2, and 3 of Hetalia and two Hetalia plushies though! So yay!

I'm really happy with the end results of the con. I got more than I could do alone so it was really awesome to have matt, cam and Zi with me. I wish my prints did better but I seem to make up for it with scarfs. Had some drama but it wasn't mine and this year was no broken foot so even better. Took sunday off so the team could enjoy the con and we could keep from getting con hang over. Tomorrow we restock and prep for Banzai and take some time to go to the zoo because I think we all need a break from 'anime' for a bit. We're on cosplay pretty magic girl and male cross dress overload. lol

Well, with no broken foot you had a leg up on everything. :D

Male cross dress overload, the leading cause of Con-exhaustion. The words on my box of Cherios said so. ;)

Wait....this is a Lucky Charms box....

How was the zoo? it sounded like you guys had a ton of fun. :D (While we were chasing around a dripping wet, screaching child and trying to get her to bed.)

Yeah I want you hear toooooooo
I'm really happy with the paper banner and the new little over hang I added. Wasn't too much to add those little touches and it really makes the thing pop. I also did a planogram so that I could send people in without me and it would still get set up. Each year getting more elaborate and it's working. We nearly soul out so I will be working to rebuild stock for banzai O.O!

Wow, those are some amazing tables!!
I've been at two cons in the past few years (just small local ones) and had an artists table set up... so I know what it's like now and how much work it is. I've seen a few tables using those crates but I've never used them myself. Are they difficult to set up like that?

They are not too bad. They are harder to get down than up actually. I do a test run a week before the con and set up everything to see how it looks and then take a picture so the day of the con it's way easier to set up. The first few times I used them though I felt I needed an engineering degree. But they are not too expensive, they are stable, they are durable and they pack up well so I like them for what I have. Always helps to have a little duct tape though -trade secret-

Let me know if you get to any other cons Keelerleah. I'm looking to branch out a bit more and it would be fun to have lunch some time. ^_^

Thank you, I have lots of people looking after me this year to make sure I don't hurt myself and to make sure I take breaks and rest. I'm already thinking we'll not open on sunday and just have a relaxation day. I'm already worn out and scared I might come down with something. My pill cocktail is growning. I wonder if I'm getting too old for this stuff LOL j/k Miss you sweetie and I hope you're doing okay in the new place.

awe!!!! I don't think it's that you're getting too old for it so much as life is getting too damned fast that it's too rough to keep up the pace! @.@ But I'm glad you've got helpers. Always makes it easier. And yeah seems the t-virus is going around right now so try not to catch it @.@ Miss you too!!!!! I'm...surviving. Suppose that's better than nothing ^^;
