The Steampunk necklace design by =MadMouseMedia is a truly creative artisan craft piece that achieves a feel of originality while still remaining true to the steampunk subculture, particularly in the use of Asiatic design on the back of the pendant. I feel as though this adds a more creative dash to the otherwise very implied pseudo-technological nature of the piece, while also paying a nod to the Asian culture where the Gothic and Lolita movements first began, both of which are quickly absorbing steampunk into their styles. It's almost disappointing that this side is considered the back and therefore wouldn't be seen while being worn; perhaps another washer at the top, or better alignment of the front washer to the hole and the piece could be considered reversible. The use of the ribbon in lieu of a chain adds a feminine, Victorian touch as well, and the beads add a certain charm. Aesthetically, I almost want either all or none of the brass buttons to have circles around them, or perhaps just the last one, and (despite knowing how difficult this could be) I want to push the second one from the top a skosh to the right to line them up straighter. Overall a very intriguing piece.
